FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
(NON SUBSCRIBING) NEWRY

The First Presbyterian Church building is located in the heart of Newry. The present church was erected to the design of leading architect, W.J. Barre, in 1853.

£11,285 of funding was awarded by Clanrye Abbey Development to enable repairs to be carried out to the roof of the Warnock Hall which was built in 1965 and for refurbishment and general repairs of the stone wall.

NEWRY 2020

The Albert Basin Park Project seeks to harness the potential of the area by transforming a derelict site at the head of Carlingford Lough into a much needed 15 acre green public space for the people of Newry.  Nestled between the Clanrye River and the Newry Canal, the Albert Basin’s proximity to the centre of Newry provides the ideal location to exploit the stunning scenery of the area.

£10,000 of funding was awarded by Clanrye Abbey Development to Newry 2020 to enable a feasibility study for the public park.

NEWRY RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

Newry Rugby Football Club promotes the playing of and participation in the sport of rugby union across all ages, genders and cultures within the locality as one club, ensuring an enjoyable, rewarding experience for players, families, sponsors and stake-holders on the pitch, within their club and in their community.

£10,000 of funding was awarded by Clanrye Abbey Development to Newry Rugby Football Club to help leverage the match funding required to secure the urgent up-grading work to the changing rooms and re-wiring and plumbing of the clubrooms to help provide a vital community, social and sporting facility for the people of Newry.
